Processes

This component divides the processes running on an ASE into distinct categories. This provides the ability to quickly glance at the component and see a summary of how work is being divided within the ASE processes.

For example, a process holding open a lock that is blocking many other users can be easily seen by an increase in the respective area in the stacked bar chart.

This section of the Users panel displays processes that are:

• Blocked - provides information about the total number of processes blocked by another user

• Active - provides information about the number of processes utilizing cpu, memory, or I/O resources from the ASE

• System - provides information about the number of internal processes owned by the ASE

• Idle - provides information about the number of idle processes, i.e., processes not consuming ASE resources
