We are excited to announce a new release of Active Administrator.

Look what's new in 8.8:

• Security enhancements
• Support for TLS 1.3 including an option to enable “Strict Encryption” for the SQL server connection.
• Performance enhancements
• Improved startup time of the ADS server.
• Centralized the functionality of checking the database versions when connecting to the archive database.
• Optimized the Active Directory backup and restore functionality to allow for better processing of out-of-order object restore operations. 
• Updated all references of Azure AD Sync to Microsoft Entra Connect and improved how Microsoft Entra services are reported. References to services are now stored in a config file that can be changed if needed.

Version 8.6.2 is in limited support and scheduled to be discontinued on March 3, 2025.

Version 8.6.3 is scheduled to go into limited support on March 17,2025 and discontinued support on September 17, 2025.
