Metric Collections

vCloud Director agents collect data from monitored environment and store it in the Foglight™ topology model as topology objects. Each monitored object is represented with a topology object. For example, a VMVCloudProviderVDC object instance represents a specific provider vDC. Foglight for VMware includes a set of topology types representing the different monitoring targets. Each object type comes with a unique collection of metric properties that store metric data collected from the monitored objects. The following topology types are used for storing collected metrics:
