The anti-virus exclusions in this article are for KACE Desktop Authority (KDA) version 10.1 and above. Please see attached documents for older versions of KACE Desktop Authority.
Anti-Virus programs scan files in order to prevent malicious and unwanted programs from harming machines on the network. However, it is often necessary to create scanning exceptions for legitimate programs so that they are not delayed or prevented from running. Scanning exceptions may be made at the folder or file level depending upon personal preferences or internal company policy mandates. The various folder locations for KACE Desktop Authority files are listed below so that the appropriate exceptions can be made for them.
It is important to note that some anti-virus programs require separate exception entries for 32 bit and 64 bit paths. In addition, some also don’t support paths using long file names but instead require adherence to the 8.3 convention. It is recommended to consult your anti-virus vendor for more specific information regarding creating exception entries.

NOTE: Excluding the entire folder and the few specific files listed above is sufficient for the creation of anti-virus exceptions. We have compiled a more comprehensive list of files below for those who wish to exclude by specific file names. Please see the "Version 10.1 Exclusion Files" document attached below. These files should be excluded on both the client and KACE Desktop Authority Server.
