Job fails early in the process with Error Message: 2355 - Configuration mismatch

Cause
We have seen this error caused by a few different things, such as, very large disks, disk spread across several datastores, or because disk are not a whole number (45 GB vs 45.01234 GB) because the VM was P2V'd.

Resolution
Edit the backup job in vRanger and on step 5 (configuration options page) turn off (uncheck) “Compress backed up files”

Additional Information
If you have none standard disk sizes (45 GB vs 45.01234 GB) due to converting a machine from physical to virtual or even a virtual to virtual we would recommend that you resize the disk to the next whole number (45 GB) up using a product like vOptimizer (also sold by Quest Software).
