vRanger LAN-free(SAN) restores result in non-bootable VMs (4046903)

A valid vRanger archive is restored via the LAN-free(SAN) method. The restore appears to succeed, but when the VM is booted, no operating system is found/machine will not boot.

The exact cause of this known behavior is under investigation. Not every LAN-free restore will exhibit this behavior.

The following options can be used to correct the problem.

1.  The issue can be resolved by correcting the Lun presentation to the vRanger machine.

2.  Perform the restore job via the LAN-mode transport. LAN-mode restores are not affected, and are bootable upon restoring them. The LAN-free/LAN mode option is a selectable check-box on the Transport Selection screen. Check Custom transport Selection and then next check LAN option only.
