Problem with restoring vRanger backup (4045841)

You are restoring from the backup created by older (4.x) version of Ranger.
Error is caused by the duplicate entries in SP Manifest.metadata file. Error occurs for VM with snapshots, never for clean VM.

Backup contains duplicate backups of virtual disks. Thus Manifest.metadata file has multiple FileManEntry tags for the same disks.

Solution: The defect detailing this issue has been fixed, so, you should not see duplicate FileManEntry tags with recent vRanger client version created backups.
If you need to restore from the backup with duplicates:
thoroughly read manifest file;
if symptoms confirmed, delete FileMapEntry duplicates from the manifest;
create new ‘Restore from Savepoint Manifest’ job.
