Trying to replicate a particular virtual machine and its timing out
Description

Unable to replicate Windows 2003 SP2 machine. vRanger is giving the "timed out" error.
Cause

One of the disk was set to "independent". ESX cannot snapshot an independent disk, thus, timeout occurs for vRanger to communicate on the host.
vRanger cannot backup and/or replicate a independent disk.
Resolution
1. Switch off the offending VM
2. Edit the Settings of the offending VM
3. In the Hardware Tab select the disk
4. In the Mode Pane uncheck "Independent"
5. Click OK
