2241 - FATAL phys_cant_write_detail PHYS can't write .vmdk.vzmap (No space left on device) (4043404)

When performing a VM replication job, the job fails with the error message:

"Error:2241 - FATAL phys_cant_write_detail PHYS can't write /scratch/sdb/Replica VM UUID directory/VM_Replica-flat.vmdk.vzundo".

There is insufficient free space on the target virtual appliance scratch disk.

To correct this issue please follow the following steps. If replications are currently running you must cancel them or wait for them to finish.

Resolution 1:

You can remove all of the .vzundo files from the scratch disk with a single Linux command. To clear out the .vzundo files from the scratch disk please follow these steps:

1. Putty into the target VA or open the console in vCenter.
2. Verify that no replications that use this VA are currently running. 
3. Enter the following command at the prompt: 
   • find /scratch/sdb -name *.vzundo -exec rm -rf {} \;
4. Once you have cleaned out all the .vzundo files you can run the df command and you should have free space in the /scratch/sdb/ directory once again.
5. Please start running your replication jobs again.

Resolution 2:

Increase the size of the scratch disk while retaining the existing replication information.

1. In the vRanger UI go to Tools | Options | Virtual Appliance - Configuration.
2. Check your Target VA from the table and click Edit.
3. Increase the size of the Scratch disk and click OK. Wait for the task to complete.
