GUI freezes when trying to access Virtual Appliance - Configuration -
Description
- When trying to access the Virtual Appliance - Configuration pane, vRanger GUI freezes and doesn't respond.
- The vRanger GUI must be closed from task manager in order to regain access to the GUI.
- The vCenter has been added to the vRanger configuration.
- The ESXi root credentials has been added to the hosts under the vCenter hierarchy.

Cause
The vCenter account cannot co-exist with ESXi root credentials. This creates a credential duplicity. -
Resolution
- Identify which host has a ESXi root credential.
- Right-click the ESXi host and then click "Remove credentials"
- Restart the Quest vRanger Service.
To identify which host has a ESXi credential, please consider the following:
- The ESXi root credential is represented by a small golden key on top of the ESXi host icon.
- When the license has been applied to the ESXi, a big golden key is shown next to the ESXi host.
In the following example, the 2nd host in the cluster has an ESXi root credential that must be removed:
