Description
All backups and replications fail with the following message:
Error: com.vmware.pbm.persistence.exception.PersistenceOperationException: Error occured while getting entry with key 'vm-xxxx' from provider '[Name:spbmAssociationProvider Optimistic locking:false]'

Cause
The error message refers to a failure retrieving information about the virtual machines using the VMware SPBM component. The SPBM is the VMware Storage Policy Based Management, which is used by vRanger to query the virtual machine hard disk details. -
Resolution
In order to resolve the issue, restart the VMware vCenter appliance/server and retry the backup jobs.
