Customer would like to restore VM to a datastore that lack free space for provisioned disks.
Example. 2 disk VM was backed up. 1st disk is thick, 40GB , 2nd is thin provisioned, 1TB, with low space utilization, around 50GB used. Savepoint is 45GB.
There is only one datastore available with 300GB free. Configured restore job fails due to lack of space.
vSphere allows to create provisioned disk on datastore lacking space. But it warns user about possible consequences. User may ignore and proceed.
Ranger restore job is not interactive, thus we play safe and simply fail the job.
To bypass following procedure can be used:
Ranger (tested in 6.1) is not attempting to create a new VM but using existing one.
