If you want to keep the current vRanger configuration you will need to backup the vRanger SQL Express DB and restore it to the new server.
Back up the current vRanger DB.
1. Start SQL Management Studio and connect to the VRANGERPRO database.
2. Click on the plus next to Databases.
3. Right-click on the vRangerPro DB, Point to Tasks, and click on Back Up...
4. In the backup wizard, you can change the location of the backup destination if you do not want to use the default path and press "ok"
Install vRanger on a new server which will create a New SQL DB
Restore the old DB on top of the newly created blank DB.
1. Stop the following services in the following order, vRanger API Service, vRanger FLR Service, and vRanger Service.
2. Start SQL Management Studio and connect to the VRANGERPRO database.
3. Right-click on vRangerPro DB, Point on Tasks, Point on Restore, and Click on Restore.
4. Under "Source for restore" select the "From Device" radio button and press the "...".
5. Select the backup file of the backup that was performed (This may have to be moved from the location where it was back up to).
6. Click on Options on the left side and place a check in the Overwrite the existing database and click OK.
7. Restart the services in the following order, vRanger Service, vRanger FLR Service, and vRanger API Service.
8. Verify your vRanger configuration is still there now from the new DB and test running one of your jobs to confirm the DB move was successful.
