Backups fail intermittently with the message Index outside the bounds of array. It is not the same VMs each night and the ones that fail one night work the next with no problems.
Cause
Found that Backup Exec is also running tasks to the same VMs or simply running at the same time. The latter can result in heavy I/O for the vCenter server thus causing intermittent messages within vRanger.
Resolution
Schedule tasks so that vRanger and Backup Exec are not running simultaneously. Also ensure vRanger and Backup Exec are not backing up the same machines at the same time.
