When trying to connect Spotlight on Windows to a Windows Server 2008 server, the following error is displayed: "The user name and/or password supplied was not accepted by the server <servername>. Connection failed for <servername>."
If you click Details the following is additional detials are displayed"
"Window Services Datasource: The service manager on <servername> is not accessible
In addition to the credentials used in the connection properties requiring local Administrator rights on the target server, the account used to run the Diagnostic console (if different) requires local Administrator rights on the target server as well.
Grant the account used to run the Diagnostic console local Administrator rights on the target server
