1. Open a command prompt and change to the following directory:
- C:\Program Files\Quest\UC Diagnostics\ManagementConsole\Binaries for 32bit servers
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\UC Diagnostics\ManagementConsole\Binaries for 64bit servers
2. Run Del *.log? from the command prompt to remove all existing log files
3. Change directory to the Utilities directory
4. Run detailed_logging_on.bat to enable debug logging.
Running this command will re-start both spotlight services.Note: If you see any "Access is denied" errors in the Command Prompt window, you need to run Command Prompt as Administrator, and then navigate to the above directory and run 'detailed_logging_on.bat' and 'collectLogFiles.bat'
5. Reproduce the issue you are experiencing
6. Run collectLogFiles.bat
7. In file explorer open the following directory:
- C:\Program Files\Quest\UC Diagnostics\ManagementConsole\Binaries for 32bit servers
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\UC Diagnostics\ManagementConsole\Binaries for 64bit servers
8. Send the logfiles.cab file to support for review
9. To turn off debug logging run the detailed_logging_off.bat file.
Running this command will re-start both spotlight services.The logfiles.cab file if below 10MB can be attached to an email to Quest Support. You can also attach the logs online on
Support Portal under your Service Request.
