When launching Toad for Data Analysts, the following error is generated:
"Message : Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." -
Resolution
1. Ensure Toad for Data Analysts is closed.
2. Drill to:
Win XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\<User_Name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Quest Software"

Win 7: "C:\Users\<user_Name>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software"3. Rename Toad for Data Analysis X.Y folder to Toad for Data Analysis X.Y BACKUP (where X.Y is the version number).
4. Restart Toad for Data Analysts.
5. Select "No" to migrate previous preferences dialogue if asked.

Additional Information
Files can be moved back into the newly created Toad folder to preserve settings, connections and the Project Manager if they do not cause the error: Settings.xml, Connections.xml and Editorlayout.xml files will be under the:
Win XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\<User_Name>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Data Analysis X.Y" folder.
Win 7: "C:\Users\<User_Name>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Data Analysis X.Y" folder.
(Where X.Y is the version number).The ProjectManager.XML and ProjectManager.TPF files will be under the "..\ModuleSettings" folder.
