To view an existing connection:

To create a connection:
Note: This procedure is appropriate to adding a Windows node to a Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) or connecting to a Windows server without connecting to a SQL Server instance.
Click Configure | Connections .
Double-click Add new connection.
Complete the connection details:

Address |
The IP address, hostname, or URL of a Windows machine you want to connect to. |
Use Diagnostic Server credentials |
Select this option to use the user name and password configured on the Spotlight Diagnostic Server to connect to the Windows machine. Note: Select this option when connecting to the Windows machine that hosts the Spotlight Diagnostic Server. |
User |
A valid user account on the target system. Note: Spotlight on Windows needs to use an account with the privileges required to retrieve server information, query the registry, and access WMI and performance monitor objects. An account with administrative rights to the target machine allows this. |
Password | The password required to connect the specified user to the Windows machine. |
VM Name |
If the Windows machine is hosted on a virtual machine, select the name of the virtual machine. |
Host |
Select the name of the ESX Server or VirtualCenter server that hosts the virtual machine. |
Create New |
Click to create a new connection to an ESX Server or VirtualCenter server. See the following section on VMware connections for more information. |
