Avg Lock Wait Time graphs

The Avg. Lock Wait Time graph keeps track of the average wait time (in milliseconds) for locks in the database over consecutive monitoring intervals. Spotlight calculates the average lock wait time for each monitoring interval by dividing the total wait time for all applications in the database by the total number of waits occurring in the interval.

If the average lock wait time is high, access the Client Applications Analysis drilldown to pinpoint the applications that hold many locks or have lock escalations. You can then tune these applications to improve concurrency, if appropriate. If escalations are the reason for a high average lock wait time, the values of the LOCKLIST and MAXLOCKS configuration parameters might be too low.
