The number of requested piped sorts. Every active sort allocates memory, sometimes using up too much of the available memory. The SORTHEAP and SHEAPTHRES parameters are important controls on memory usage for sorts. These parameters also determine whether or not a sort is piped.
Note: In a multiple-partition database, information is presented for each active partition on the system. An All Nodes row keeps a running total for all partitions. In a single-partition database, only the All Nodes information is presented.
