NetVault Plug-in for Oracle 10.0.5 - Release Notes

Deprecated features

The following is a list of features that are no longer supported: Removed support for AIX® 5.3, Asianux 2 and 3, HP-UX PA-RISC, Oracle Linux 4, and Windows Server 2003 and 2003 R2. (26830, 28937, 29355)

Resolved issues

Corrected an issue that prevented a backup job from completing when all Oracle objects were included in the job on Solaris SPARC and Linux® platforms.

Corrected an issue in which a missing apostrophe (') in the connect auxiliary statement for cloning caused a restore job to fail.

Corrected an issue that caused restores jobs to fail in some environments, for example, Solaris® SPARC®, with a NetVault Backup Media Manager error.

Corrected an issue that prevented usage of the NV_ORIGINAL_NV_CLIENT variable during a restore to designate the NetVault Backup Client from which the original backup was taken.

Known issues

The plug-in does not support the Tablespace Point-in-Time Recovery (TSPITR) feature in Oracle®.

15818 (OAG‑313), 16295 (OAG‑728), 22312

If you cancel an RMAN backup job on a Windows® system, the plug-in might fail to allocate an SBT_TAPE channel for subsequent backup jobs.

The plug-in name has been changed to use the “Plug-in for <product>” naming convention (that is, Plug‑in for Oracle). If you upgrade the plug-in for a system that is managed by a NetVault Backup Server 9.2, a consequence of the name change is that savesets created with the upgraded plug-in are not displayed in the NVBU Restore window when the Selection Method is set to Plugin; only savesets created with an earlier version are displayed.

Workaround for NetVault Backup Server 9.2: On the Selections tab of the NVBU Restore window, select Job in the Selection Method list to view savesets or backups created with a previous version or the upgraded plug-in.

This issue was corrected in NetVault Backup 10.0.0.
