Installing on separate "Import" and "Export" computers

Since a single computer configuration is not always feasible, you also have the option of installing the Migrator for Notes to SharePoint client twice (once on a computer that has access to your Notes environment and once on a computer that has access to your SharePoint environment) and using intermediate files for transferring data between the two computers.

Migrator for Notes to SharePoint clients can be installed on a system that does not have network access to SharePoint. In this event, certain functions (such as the ability to browse the available SharePoint Sites and Lists) will be disabled. This does not impair the ability to interact with Lotus Notes or export Lotus Notes data.

Migrator for Notes to SharePoint clients can also be installed on a system that does not have Lotus Notes installed. In this event, certain functions (such as the ability to browse the available Notes databases and views) will be disabled. This does not impair the ability to interact with SharePoint or import SharePoint data.

Finally, Migrator for Notes to SharePoint Designer and Command Line clients have the ability to save data to (or load data from) an intermediate XML file. This option is available when you click Run Job.

The intention of the above features is to enable the following scenario:

Computer A:

3
Click Save Job to save the Job Definition.
4
Click Run Job and save the results to an intermediate XML file.

Computer B:

2
Click Load Job in the Designer client to save the Job Definition you saved in step #3.
4
Click Run Job and load from the intermediate XML file you saved in step #4.

Licensing and product editions

Migrator for Notes to SharePoint requires licenses to be installed before any functionality is available for use. In the Console, only the License icon will be shown if no license is installed.

As this was a change in licensing strategy, Quest will supply new licenses to users with existing licenses in a
pre-6.6 release and who upgrade to release 6.6 or later.

Migrator for Notes to SharePoint licenses specify the product editions, which differ in the number of databases to which you can migrate. You can purchase a license with an unlimited number of databases.

You can purchase additional licenses later, as your migration needs grow.
