Removing user accounts

You cannot remove the account that you used to log in to the Console Program.
To remove a console user account:

From the main menu, select Console User Accounts.

Select Remove Console User.

In the Remove Console User(s) screen, select the user account that you want to delete.
A confirmation message appears.

To continue, select Yes.
The user account is removed.

Select OK to return to the Remove Console User(s).

Select Back to return to the Console User Accounts.

Modifying the time zone, time, or date

Start by selecting a time zone. If the date or time associated with the time zone are incorrect, you can change them.
To change the appliance time zone, time, or date:

From the main menu, select Date & Time.

Select Change Date, Time, and Timezone.

In the Clock and Time Zone screen:
a
From the Region list, select a region.
The Time Zone list changes based on the selected region.

From Time Zone list, select a time zone, country, or region.

To use UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), select Hardware Clock Set To UTC. Clear this option to use local time.

If the time or date of the time zone are incorrect:

In the Data and Time box, select Change.

Select Manually.

Set the time and/or date.
d
Select Accept.

Select OK.

Modifying the list of NTP servers for physical appliances

For physical appliances, you need to specify the Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers. Depending on your network configuration, administrators may need to provide one NTP server per datacenter.
To change the NTP settings:

From the main menu, select Date & Time.

Select Change NTP Settings.

In the Change NTP Settings screen, specify NTP servers.
•
NTP Server 1: Specify the IP address of the primary NTP server. This server provides the reference clock for the network. When this setting is provided, the appliance clock synchronizes with the NTP server clock.
•
NTP Server 2, NTP Server 3: Allows you to specify additional NTP servers, should the primary server become unavailable.

Select OK.
A confirmation message appears.

To save the settings, select Yes.
The NTP servers are saved, and you return to the Date & Time.

Modifying network settings

The Network Settings screen displays the current settings for this appliance. For an appliance containing a Sniffer, the Monitor Devices area displays the monitoring ports currently in use. You can change any of the network settings except for Monitor Devices. The Console Program stops all active processes before saving your changes.
When specifying IP addresses, you can use either IPv4 or IPv6 addresses.
When specifying a subnet mask, you can use whichever notation you prefer, that is, either CIDR notation (as shown in the following image) or IP notation (for example, 255.255.255.0). The Console Program automatically converts IP notation to CIDR notation.
To modify network settings:

From the main menu, select Network Settings.

In the Network Settings screen, modify network settings as required. For descriptions of options, see one of the following topics:

Network information required for physical appliances

Network information for virtual appliances

Select OK.
A confirmation message appears.

To continue, select Yes.
The Console Program displays the progress of the operation. If the operation is successful, the Success screen appears.

Select OK.
The system tests the monitoring traffic and displays the results.

Select OK.
The network settings are saved, and you return to the main menu.
