Toad Data Point 5.3 - Release Notes

Alter Authentication

Note: This feature is available in the Toad Data Point Professional edition only and requires access to a Toad Intelligence Central server.

You can use the Alter Authentication dialog to perform the following tasks:

  • To set your personal Authentication key (views)—The first time you attempt to access a view that was published with a personal key, Toad prompts you for authentication credentials. You must create an Authentication key by providing your user name and password to the remote data source.

  • To change Shared key password—If the password changed for the shared account in the remote data source, you must also change the password for the Shared key.

Note: The owner of an object and users with Manage privileges can modify a data object's Shared (public) key.

  • To change authentication from personal to Shared (views)—You can change the type of key applied to a view from personal to Shared. A view can have only one type of key applied at a time.
