Locks Waiting

This is the number of locks that are waiting to be granted. This value is an indication of lock contention on a server.

Use this value as one indication of activity on an ASE.

Note: Locking adversely affects performance of an ASE by limiting concurrency.

Go to the Locks drilldownto view detailed information on user and object lock activity. This information should provide direction for choosing the appropriate locking schemes.
