Unexpected problem has occurred in Index Fragmentation screen, error: "Could not convert variant of type" -
Description
User right clicks in the fragmented indexes page, and selects generate defrag script option. An error occurs, stating that an unexpected problem has occurred. -
Cause
Error occurs if user reorganized the column, i.e. drag the “Average Fragmentation” column to a non-default place.

Resolution
Right-click on the fragmentation grid and select “Restore Default Settings”. Reopen Spotlight.
