Copy job is not purging folders at root of target folder when the option "Create initial source folder under target folder" is not selected

Enhancement request for ability to “Purge orphaned files/folders on the target” without checking the option to “Create initial source folder under target folder”.

This is by design.

"Purge orphaned files/folders on the target": Select to make all files and folders in the target identical to those in the source. This option deletes files or folders in the target that also do not exist in the source.

 

WORKAROUND

Enable the "Create initial source folder under target folder" option. If the copy job has already been run without this option initially selected, enabling it afterwards could result in duplicate files/folders being created on the target when the source folder is created on the target. There are 2 options to prevent this:

1. Create a new folder in the target location with the same name as the Source folder. Then manually copy all of the files in the target location into this folder. You can then configure the copy job with the option 'Create initial source folder' and the Purge orphaned files/folders on the target option. This will not result in a duplicate folder getting created on the target, and the source and target will be synched
2. Delete all of the files on the target, configure the copy job with the option 'Create initial source folder' and the Purge orphaned files/folders on the target option. The source folder and files will be copied to the target again and will remain in synch going forward

Enhancement request number 453857 has been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release of Secure Copy.
