1. Recovery Manager for AD is able to restore the users and computers password. Restoring the computers password is important, especially in a large restore as the computer would have to be rejoined to the domain without a password
2. Recovery Manager for AD can restore GPO's
3. Restore a particular attribute spanning multiple objects. This is useful if a script or issue occurs in the environment where all objects attribute is updated or removed and only that attribute has to be restored for the users, instead of restoring the entire object. I do not see documentation from Veritas that states this can be done spanning multiple objects.
4. Comparison reports can be run within Recovery Manager for AD to find the differences between the object as it exists in AD and how it looked during the point in time of the backup and restore the attributes/object based on that data.
Veritas Netbackup also has the below caveats:
The Network File System (NFS) must be installed on the media server and all Active Directory domain controllers or ADAM/LDS hosts.
NetBackup uses GRT (Granular Recovery Technology) which appears to have an additional cost per agent. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
