If you restore a DC's system state from backup, will the FSMO roles (from the time of the backup) be restored as well?
Resolution

Yes, when you perform a restore of the domain controller's system state, whether using native tools or using Recovery Manager, the restored DC will contain the state of AD at the time the backup was taken including any FSMO roles that were held at the time the backup was taken.
