Reviewing the Instance's Version-related Information

The Instance Information section provides the following information about the master database (instance):
•
Instance—the instance’s name.
•
Version—the database version of the master database. The version is provided as a string that contains the following parameters:
•
Database edition
•
Product level
•
Product version
•
Date and time when the database version was released
•
Edition—the database edition, namely: SQL Azure
•
Product level—either of the following values:
•
RTM—Release to Manufacturing
•
Service Pack and its number—for example, SP1
•
Product version—for example, 10.25.9644.0
•
Collation—the master database’s collation (for example: SQL_Latin1 for the Latin alphabet)

Reviewing the Remote Users' Firewall Settings

The Firewall Setting section provides details about the rules created to allows a user or a group of users to remotely access the master database, as well as the firewall settings configured on the computer that is running SQL Azure to allow access to such users.
The Firewall Setting table includes the following columns:
•
Rule Name—the name of the rule.

IMPORTANT: It is advisable to assign a name that represents the name of the single user or the group of users to whom this rule grants remote access privileges; for example, JohnDoeHome or DBAsTeam.

Start IP Address—the first address within the IP address range allocated to the users whose remote access is granted via the selected rule.
•
End IP Address—the last address within the IP address range allocated to the users whose remote access is granted via the selected rule.
•
Rule Creation Date—the date and the time when the rule was created.
•
Rule Modification Date—the date and the time when the rule was last changed.

Reviewing the Monitored Database's Properties

The Database Properties List table lists all the properties set for the selected database, and allows tracking the changes these properties have undergone during the selected time range.
This table includes the following columns:
•
Property—the property’s name.
•
Property Value—the property’s currently defined value.
•
Last Run Value—the property’s value as a result of the last run.
•
Last Changed—the date and time when the most recent update of the property’s value took place.
If the property’s value was changed during the last three days, such a change is indicated by a dedicated icon () in the Last Changed column.

Monitoring Estimated Costs

The Cost drilldown allows monitoring the database’s total estimated costs—on both storage and bandwidth usage—based on the pricing plan and the actual usage during the specified time range.

IMPORTANT: As the estimated storage cost is calculated on a daily basis, the default time range for the Cost screen is 2 days.
