When attempting to restore a mailbox in ODR, the operation fails and returns the following error:
"The proxy address 'SMTP:xxxxxxx' is already being used by the proxy addresses or LegacyExchangeDN of 'xxxxx'. Please choose another proxy address."
This indicates that the specified SMTP proxy address is already assigned to another object in the environment. As a result, the restore process cannot proceed because proxy addresses must be unique across all mail-enabled objects.
An enhancement request has been submitted to consider implementing a feature in ODR that would detect conflicting proxy addresses during mailbox restore, and provide an option to delete the conflicting objects.
