Manually change the port number on one remote workstation to test. Follow these steps to manually change the port number:
- A connection to the remote workstations registry and services applet will be needed or a Windows RDP session.
- Open the registry and navigate to HKLM\Software\DesktopAuthority\V5\Net
- Change the data for the value "ListenPort" to something other than 2000. Try 2001 or 3000 or any other port that is not already in use on the network. Create the string value "ListenPort" if it does not exist. Then exit the registry.
- In services.msc restart the "DA Remote Management" service.
- Now try to connect to the remote workstation using the new port: https://computer:3000
- If the test is successful then Desktop Authority can be used to automate the port change. Go to a remote management element and change the port number on the "Settings" page.
- Save and replicate. The next time the slogic.bat logon script runs on the remote workstation the port will be changed.
