How to add trusted sites to Internet Explorer using the registry element in KACE Desktop Authority.
In this example, we will add (https://support.quest.com) to Trusted Sites.
1. Browse to Client Configuration | Profiles | User.
2. Expand the profile that the new settings will be created under.
3. Highlight "Registry".
4. Click "+Add" to create a new element.
5. Click "+Add" again to input a new registry setting.
9. Use the information below to configure the registry setting.
NOTE: Change the key to match the desired site. Do not include "https://"
Action: Write Value
Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\support.quest.com
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: https
Data/Expression: 2
NOTE: The Value field specifies which protocol(s) to add. Enter the desired protocol(s) or use an asterisk (*) which will add all protocols.
The Data/Expression field specifies the security zone. Each Internet Explorer security zone is represented by a number. Enter the zone value for the security zone you would like to add the website to. The Trusted Sites zone is number "2". Below is a list of the available zone values:
Intranet = 1
Trusted Sites = 2
Internet = 3
Restricted Site = 4
10. Click "Confirm"
11. Click "Save"
12. Replicate changed files.
