Installing Driver for a new PCIe SSD device

Perform the following steps to configure the driver when you add the controller to a system that already has Windows installed.
Note: Windows Server 2012 R2 contains an in-box NVMe PCIe SSD driver, however Dell requires customers to update to the latest Dell provided driver to ensure full functionality.

1. Press Start > Control Panel > System and Security.
2. Select Device Manager under the System option.
3. Double-click the entry to expand Storage Controllers. Alternatively, you can click on the plus symbol next to the Storage controllers.
4. Double-click on the Standard NVM Express Controller for each device to update.
5. Click on the Driver tab and click on Update Driver.
6. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
7. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
8. Select Have Disk.
9. Follow the steps in the wizard and browse to the location of the driver files.
10.Select the driver.
11.Click OK to exit the wizard.
12.Click Next.
13.Restart the system for the changes to take effect.

Updating the Driver for existing PCIe SSD Devices

Perform the following steps to update the Windows driver for a device already installed on your system.
NOTE: It is important that you idle your system before you update the driver. 1. Press Start > Control Panel > System and Security.
2. Select Device Manager under the System option.
3. Double-click the entry to expand Storage Controllers. Alternatively, you can click on the plus symbol next to the Storage controllers.
4. Double-click on the Dell Express Flash NVMe PCIe SSD for which you want to update the driver.
5. Click on the Driver tab and click on Update Driver.
6. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
7. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
8. Select Have Disk.
9. Follow the steps in the wizard and browse to the location of the driver files.
10.Select the driver.
11.Click OK to exit the wizard.
12.Click Next.
13.Restart the system for the changes to take effect.
