This script will be for assigning a static IP address to a VA. This will create new files and wipe the old ones.
NOTE: Information needed:
New Hostname for VA
IP address
Address of the Gateway
Subnet mask
VA's broadcast address (i.e 192.168.1.255)
Domain search suffix (i.e domain.local)
DNS server 1 IP address
DNS server 2 IP address
Resolution
Connect the ISO file attached to this KB to the VA. This can be done in the vSphere client with the VA highlighted. Click the pickture of the CD and wrench on the toolbar. Select 'CD/DVD Drive1 \ Connecto to ISO file on the local disk.."
Mount the CDrom to a folder by running this command: "mount /dev/sr0 /media/cdrom"
Run the script from the ISO file by typing this command: "/media/cdrom/staticip.sh"
