You are performing a File Level Restore and there is missing data. You also see "This backup contains snapshots. Any changes made since the snapshots were taken will not be reflected".
This issue is caused by open snapshots on the VM that you are backing up and you also perform a COS(Credentialed ESX Host) based backup.
When a COS based backup is performed against a VM that has open snapshot(s) vRanger creates 2 .var files for each disk and when FLR is performed only the main disk .var is used and all the data in the snapshot .var is not displayed in when FLR is performed. The only way to recover the data in the snapshot file is to perform a full restore of the VM.
Another way to not have this issue occur in the first place is to perform the backup job with one of the Lan-Free options. If Lan-free is not an option for you then you can remove the ESX host credentials and vRanger will perform a VDDK network backup. A VDDK network backup creates a single .var file when snapshot(s) is open on a VM. Because there is only a single .var when FLR is performed all the data is shown and you can recover files and folders without having to need to perform a full restore.
