Permissions and Access Control List (ACL) not copied consistently - Intermittent 'Access Denied' errors opening files
Description
After a data migration between file systems, users report that some files and folders return 'Access Denied' errors while other parts of the same file system work as expected.
Resolution
Make certain the original source volume is available on the network.
Open Secure Copy console.
Expand the job and select Synchronization page.
Disable option to 'Specify files to Purge'.
Enable the option to 'Always copy permissions, even on skipped files'.
Secure Copy will enumerate the file systems on both Source and Target devices and replace any missing permissions due to security groups that do not resolve when the system is offline or not joined to the domain.
