When you go to Inventory|Software the default view shows a field named Devices which shows the number of clients the software is installed on.
However if you use advanced search to query the filed devices for values like > 0 or = 0 you do not receive the expected results. (none returned)
This is by design. Mathematical operators such as <,>,=,!= will not work, as this is a count of a text-string-based field (Device Name). There are two options:
1. If you wish to query against this field you must use proper criteria such as a device name, you will then receive results. (You could use multiple names with multiple lines, or regex queries.)
2. If you wish to have a Label for software is NOT installed on any device, you can use the example below to create a software label. This is potentially useful for removing unused software inventory records, reporting, or other needs.
Below is an example of a wizard based report for software not installed on any device, and not containing a file attachment. This example filters out records that have an associated payload (Consider that you might rather clean those up by hand, as they might be related to an Software Installer/Uninstaller that you want to keep), it also excludes objects in a label called "Custom Inventory" that you may have created to group custom inventory objects.
