Discovering Microsoft Hyper-V or System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) devices (4306060)

If your organization uses a virtual Hyper-V-based environment, you can use the appliance to discover Microsoft Hyper-V or SCVMM devices through discovery scheduling. To scan your network for Hyper-V or SCVMM devices, and to capture information about those devices, add an Authenticated Discovery Schedule.

Note: Each SCVMM/Hyper-V device consumes an agentless license. If the device is also provisioned with a KACE agent, it also consumes a license for the agent.

To discover Microsoft Hyper-V or SCVMM devices:

1. Go to Inventory | Discovery Schedules | Choose Action | New
2. Choose the discovery type Authenticated [WinRM, Hyper-V, VMM, SNMP, SSH, VMware]
3. Give the Discovery Schedule a Name
4. Enter the desired Address Range
5. Expand the WinRM, Hyper-V, VMM section
6. Choose a Timeout
7. Check the desired boxes
   1. Require Kerberos
   2. Scan for Hyper-V and Virtual Machine Manager
8. Enter a Port or use the default
9. Choose or add credentials
10. Choose the scheduled time to run this Discovery Schedule
    1. Default None
11. Save the schedule
