Using OEM source media and images -
Description
OEM media may be used to individually recover an image to a device using recovery media provided by the OEM. The OEM recovery media
- Should match the product version originally preinstalled on the system,
- May only be used to imaging devices that came with it,
- May not be modified prior to recovering an image to a device.
You cannot capture and deploy a modified OEM image to multiple machines according to Microsoft's licensing agreement. OEM images and source media are not supported by Quest | KACE as they violate Microsoft EULA.OEM and Retail media and keys are not designed to create standardized images. Microsoft does not support the use of Sysprep to create a new image of a system that was originally created by using a custom OEM installation image or by using OEM installation media.

Resolution
If you'd like to deploy a customized image to your OEM licensed systems, obtain a volume license (VL) key and media for that Windows version and edition (or if downgrade rights are applicable the downgraded version/edition) and create your image using the VL media. According to the Microsoft Licensing Brief, "You may use VL media to reimage any device properly licensed to run what it is being reimaged with."
Please note that you will not need to purchase a volume license or key for each individual OEM licensed machine, you just need a volume license agreement and one VL key and media for that specific Windows version and edition.
