Windows Server 2019 Patch Support (4298962)

In version 10.0 patching support was added to the KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA) for Windows Server 2019.

Kace suggests that the SMA be upgraded to version 10.0. For environments where 10.0 has not yet been tested, we do have a hotfix available for version 9.1.

Note: This hotfix does not require a reboot. After applying the hotfix it is necessary to force a patch download. Allowing the box to run a normal patch download schedule may not result in Server 2019 being added to the list of available operating systems. To force a patch download go to Security | Patch Download Settings | Run Now or on an ORG-enabled box System | Settings | Patch Download Settings | Run Now.

To add patching support for Windows Server 2019 on version 9.1:

1. Download the KBIN file from the Attachments section below
2. Go to Settings | Backup Settings and Run Now to get a full backup
3. Once the backup is complete, remove it from the SMA
4. Go to Settings | Appliance Updates
5. Use Choose File in the Manually Update section to navigate to the KBIN file downloaded in step 1
6. Click Update to the right of the chosen file
7. Once the logs show the KBIN has completed, go to Security | Patch Download Settings | Run Now or on an ORG-enabled box System | Settings | Patch Download Settings | Run Now
8. Once downloads have completed, go to Security | Subscriptions in each ORG and ensure that you are either using All Windows in Inventory and Server 2019 is in the list or that you have placed a checkmark in the box next to Windows Server 2019 in the Operating System list and Save the settings changes
9. Another Patch Download is necessary after this to complete the patches being added to the catalog where necessary
   1. This can be either the scheduled download or another manual one like above

Note: Until the patch download is manually forced, subscription settings verified, and a second patch download completed Windows Server 2019 patches may not appear in the Patch Catalog.
