How to Move the Full Text Index Location in Archive Manager 4.6 and higher
Description
If the drive housing the full text index becomes full or has grown more than anticipated, it is possible to move the location to another drive with more available disk space.
Resolution
Log into the Archive Manager website and select Administration.
Select Index Dashboard under the General menu in the left pane.
Under the Index Dashboard, select either the Message Index or Attachment Index. If both indexes (message and attachment) need to be moved, it will be necessary to complete the steps below for both message and attachment indexes.
Select Request Operation and chose the Move function from the Operation drop down menu. At this stage either the Message or Attachment Full Text Index partitions (depending on which index was selected in step 3) is presented with the current and target drive paths. An example of the Move operation on the Message index can be seen below:
Enter the new drive paths in the right box for each partition you wish to move. Once all drive paths have been updated, select Submit.
Monitor the current status of the index move by selecting General | Index Operaration Log. The log can be filtered to show only the move requests by selecting Move under the Action drop down menu and selecting Filter.
Once the Index move has been completed and shows 100% completion under the Percent Done column, the index from the old disk can now be deleted. In the example below the P-3 (Message3) index has been moved to s:\Quest Software\ArchiveManager\Index\Message3:
