Configuring thin provisioning (for VMware) or dynamically expanding (for Hyper-V) virtual disks is not supported due to the disk intensive nature of the KACE Systems Deployment Appliance (SDA) and Remote Site Appliance (RSA).
Resolution
This virtual disk configuration has been known to cause issues in many environments, including but not limited to:
Failure to migrate data from one RSA to another
Failure to capture images successfully
Poor performance
For those reasons, we can only recommend and support a thick provisioned (VMware) or Fixed size (Hyper-V) disk on the SDA and RSA.
