When the following status appears on the KACE SMA appliance | Security | Patch Download Settings page:
Last Update Status: Failed
This means that the nightly patch download to the KACE SMA appliance has failed.
Below is a list of items to check:
1. Check the KACE SMA Log file to see the exact URL download of the patches and the error message:
KSMA Settings | Logs tab | Drop down the menu to Patch Download Log, look for the
kpatch messages when downloading patch files:

2. Check to make sure the firewall, proxy server, or web filter are not restricting the download URLs from downloading the patches into the KACE SMA appliance. Please visit the following URL for the list of needed URL's:

It is usually a configuration required in the firewall or proxy server to allow those URLs to download the patch files into the KSMA appliance.
