Excluding Users From Reports (4281750)

Some reports, especially activity reports, can show users that would be undesired. An example of this would be a service account that is performing a search crawl showing up within an activity report.

ControlPoint uses the SSP Database, the Logging Database or the Analytics Reporting Database to return the information on certain activity reports, and either the Object Model or the xcAdmin database (ControlPoint's own database) for other reports. In some of these instances, undesired accounts are recorded in the respective database and, as a result, ControlPoint is reporting on those users.

1. Open the ControlPoint Configuration Site (e.g. http://servername:1818).
2. Select the ControlPoint Settings List and expand the "Actions and Analyses" category.

   

3. Edit the "EXCLUDEUSERS" parameter and add/modify its value so it has a list of comma-separated users in the format of "domain\user". The specified users will be excluded from the following reports:
   • Site Permissions
   • Activity by User
   • Activity by Document
   • Inactive Users

   

4. Save the parameter.
5. Recycle the ControlPoint application pool in IIS Manager.
