How to link a KACE SDA (Systems Deployment Appliance) to a KACE SMA (Systems Management Appliance) so they will show up in the organization (ORG) drop down menu.

Make sure that both SMA & SDA are on their latest version:

If using local accounts, the Account Name and Password must be the same on both the SMA and the SDA.
The “SDA and SMA friendly names” must be the same name DNS lookup responds with or the IP address of the SDA/SMA. For example, if the SDA is called “SDA” (hostname of the network settings) and DNS lookup of “SDA” responds with SDA.myco.com then the friendly name on the Kace linking page needs to be “SDA.myco.com” (this is called the fully qualified domain name or FQDN) or the IP address of the SDA.
On the SMA
click Settings | Control Panel | Appliances Linking
Check the box “Enable Appliance Linking”
Fill in the “friendly name" (see above notes)
Save
the Linking Key will text box will now be visible
Copy the link key (including the key header “----- BEGIN Linking KEY----” and the key footer “---- END LINKING KEY ----” ) into note pad
On the SDA
Settings & maintenance | Kace Linking
Check the box “Enable Appliance Linking”
Fill in the “friendly name“( see above notes)
Click “save”
Copy the link key (including the key header “----- BEGIN Linking KEY----” and the key footer “---- END LINKING KEY ----” ) into note pad.
On the SDA
Settings | maintenance | managed linked appliances
under choose action | add new linked appliance
for Host Name use the FQDN or IP address of the SMA
paste the SMA Link key in the “linking key” box
Click save
DO Not “test the connection" yet.
On the SMA
Settings | Control Panel | Remote trust between appliances
for Host Name use the FQDN or IP address of the SDA
paste the SDA Link key in the “linking key” box
Click “save”
Click “test Connection “
On the SDA
Settings | maintenance | managed linked appliances
Click on the SMA link
Click “edit”
Click “Test Connection”
If both tests are successful, log out of both the SMA and the SDA and close your browser.
Open the browser and log into the SMA.
The SDA should now be visible from the Organization drop down box in the top right of the SMA WebUI.
