This article is meant to cover a specific issue with Software Library downloads of the K1000 agent for self installation. For Group Policy/GPO agent installs, the recommended configuration can be found here: Installing the Kace k1000 agent through Windows Group Policy
If multiple copies of the Windows agent installer are downloaded from the software, a number similar to [1] is added to the end of the filename for subsequent copies. This causes the normal configuration of adding the K1000 name to the MSI file (see GPO link above) to point to a non-existent location if the original download isn't used. |

Orca or a similar program to modify the agent installer MSI file to add a HOST property. It is then no longer necessary to add the K1000 name to the installer filename. This process was tested to work in Orca with the 5.4.10622 agent and deployed to Windows XP/Windows 7 systems.
