How do I connect to the file share on the SMA or SDA using Windows 7/Vista?
Description
When running Windows Vista or 7 to connect to the appliance administrative file share to add new files, you may receive a message indicating that you entered an incorrect password. This is caused by a change in how Windows Vista and 7 negotiate authentication with the file server.
Resolution
Use the Group Policy Editor to revert to a pre-Windows 7/Vista authentication method:
Click on the Start Menu Orb.
Type "gpedit.msc" into the Start Search box and press Enter.
Click Computer Configuration.
Click Windows Settings.
Click Security Settings.
Click Local Policies.
Click Security Options.
Click "Network security: LAN Manager authentication level" policy and change the value to "Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated."
