Cannot associate and upload a file greater than 2 GB on the KACE appliance under Software | Inventory.
It is possible to upload large files, such as application files and backup files, to the KACE SMA by copying them to the Client Drop location on the appliance. Copying files to the Client Drop location is an alternative to uploading files through the Administrator Console using the default HTTP mechanism, which can result in browser timeouts for large files.
In order to copy files to the Client Drop location the following steps need to be taken:
2. Configure the Client Drop File Size filter
3. Next, through the file system navigator, go to the Client Drop location on the KACE SMA
The client share and clientdrop share folders are displayed.
Please note that if the organization component is enabled then you will find a different clientdrop location for each (i.e. ORG: clientdrop, ORG2:clientdrop_2,...,ORG5:clientdrop_5)
4. If prompted, provide your login credential for the Client Drop location
These credentials can be specified in the appliance Settings | Security Settings when enabling the KACE SMA file sharing.
5. Copy the files to the Client Drop location
The files will be available on the KACE SMA as follows:
Note: The file need to be in the root folder of the clientdrop folder in question. If the file is in a sub folder it will not be seen here
Note: if the Client Drop File Size Filter is set to a bigger size as the file(s) which are uploaded this feature will not be seen in the interface.
