Event ID 59 Generate Activation Context failed

When Secure Copy is installed on a Windows 2003 x86 server and “Use volume shadow copy services on local source paths to ensure open files are copied” is checked; the Event viewer may log a system error Event ID: 59, as shown below.

Generate Activation Context failed for C:\Program Files\ScriptLogic Corporation\Secure Copy 6\AlphaVSS.Win2003.x86.dll. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

This problem will occur if Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package(x86) is not installed.

Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) and retry the copy job; or uncheck the “Use volume shadow copy services on local source paths to ensure open files are copied” option.
